THE DRONE LIFE

San Francisco City Drone shot

FPV offers the ability to capture shots that are not possible with the camera drones that we are now all familiar with. These FPV drones can fly at 100mph, dive down buildings, and fly in close proximity to moving objects like cars, skydivers, airplanes, dirt bikes, and all kinds of action sports. FPV drones are well suited to action sports, but they also shine in new and creative ways. The speed and agility of FPV drones allows film makers to put cameras in new and amazing places And I’m incredibly excited to be a part of this revolution in cinematic drone filming.”

“I started flying and filming with Camera Drones like the DJI Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2. It wasn’t long before I got my Part 107 license to fly commercially. After 3 years of flying I discovered FPV drones. These drones are mostly home built and range from 2” up to 10” in size. It started with drone racing in 2015. It wasn’t long before GoPros were being strapped to these drones to record never before seen footage. Just within the last couple of years, enthusiasts have figured out how to build FPV drones capable of flying small cinema cameras like the Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4k and 6k cameras, the RED Komodo, and the Z-Cam line of cameras.
